Tata Motors gets 255 electric bus orders from State Transport Undertakings for six cities in India. 10 Indian cities had skimmed tenders for electric buses, in accordance with the Government’s plan to advance the charge of public transport. The organization says that it has sacked requests from STU’s of Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Jammu, Assam and Jaipur.
Indeed, Tata Motors has just initiated with the delivery of the first lot of electric transports to West Bengal Transport Corporation and Lucknow City Transport Services Ltd. The electric city bus that the organization will supply these cities will be the Tata Starbus EV Hero.
The STUs of the previously mentioned cities that will get Tata’s electric buses will incorporate – West Bengal Transport Corporation (WBTC), Lucknow City Transport Services Ltd. (LCTSL), Jammu and Kashmir State Road Transport Corporation (J&KSRTC), Atal Indore City Transport Service Limited (AICTSL), Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) and Jaipur City Transport Service Limited (JCTSL).

In an effort to promote electrification of public transport by the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, 10 cities had floated tenders for E-buses. We have bagged orders of 255 Electric Buses from 6 STU’s out of the total 10, namely Kolkata, Indore, Lucknow, Jammu, Assam and Jaipur. The shift to EV technology is opening up a number of opportunities for the economy.”
