Medical marijuana availed in market from today at the approved dispensaries for the patients in Pennsylvania.
For hosting the first dispensary of the state in which medical marijuana availed in market, Twenty seven industries got approval in last June. However, Lebanon Wellness Center LLC has set to open a dispensary at Altoona, in Blair County, Pennsylvania and two more in Lebanon and Gettysburg.
First dispensary providing medical marijuana has been opened today in Butler, while five more other dispensaries are supposed to be opening until the end of this week. Thomas Westerman Wolf, Governor of Pennsylvania said in a statement that, “Pennsylvanians have been waiting years for this moment. Medical marijuana is legal, safe and now available to Pennsylvanians suffering from 17 serious medical conditions.”
Pennsylvania has become the thirtieth state that is allowing its people to get medical marijuana, while twenty two states among all the listed thirty states that have approved rolling out market for the drug, are allowing it strictly just for the medical purposes and other eight are permitting anyone of their residents to use marijuana for any purpose.
Dr. Rachel Levine, Acting Secretary at Pennsylvania Department of Health stated that, “This is an important week. We are fulfilling the governor’s promise and the legislative mandate to get the medical marijuana program up and running in two years. Each week we will be adding locations where Pennsylvanians suffering from serious medical conditions can get this medication.”
