Warriors storm past Cavs in Game 2

A year ago, two-time MVP Stephen Curry absorbed his share of criticism for his subpar performance in the NBA Finals as the Warriors blew a 3-1 series lead to the Cavaliers.

Cleveland then missed nine of its next 10 shots, and by the time Love converted an interior hoop with 54 seconds remaining in the period, the Warriors had built a 99-84 advantage. James was especially fantastic, dishing out five assists in the first 12 minutes.

All was right again for the Warriors with their leader back in his usual spot on the bench.

"His defense was unbelievable, and we needed it especially with Draymond out", Kerr said of Durant. Thompson scored six of his 22 points in that time frame, while Livingston added four.

Golden State shot 18-for-43 (41.9 percent) from 3-point range, outscoring the Cavaliers 54-24 from beyond the arc. It looked like they had maybe found a rhythm and a few tweaks that allowed them to play with Golden State's machine. If he's not producing open looks and wreaking defensive havoc for 48 minutes, Cleveland just isn't good enough to hang with the updated version of Golden State. What's still completely unknown nearly a full calendar year later is how James and the Cleveland Cavaliers ever planned on combating them. The difference is that the Cavaliers must find a way to stop Durant.

"I was able to sit with him and talk with him briefly after the game, in the locker room", Ray said. After sipping beer from the sideline and spinning the ball in Serge Ibaka's face, it was the Cavaliers turn to be disrespected.

Stephen Curry recorded his first career postseason triple-double with 32 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. Love was fantastic, as well. After Game 2, both Curry and Thompson talked about having another level the team can get to.

Meanwhile, Thompson and Kyrie Irving struggled again.

What's certain is Cleveland needing better inside play from center Tristan Thompson, who called his opener "Trash".

Smith has averaged a mere 5.9 points per game this playoffs after coming off one of his roughest regular seasons. However, the Cavs were unable to win a game and were swept by the San Antonio Spurs. The Warriors could not deny him. It portends what this series will become if the Cavs can't get more than two guys to play well simultaneously.

"And to see him back on the bench was huge".

9 - Turnovers for the Cavs after 20 in Game One.

Curry, in 2012, signed a four-year, $44 million extension that some people considered a gamble because of his oft-injured ankles. Kevin Love caught fire early, assisting James with 27 points and 7rebounds. "But for the most part, you can't focus like you're on the playground".

It was Curry's backcourt mate, Klay Thompson, who came closest to writing an easy column for me. "You never know who will come up and show up for us". As promised, they played faster and cleaner, getting their possessions up and turnovers down.

LeBron James made a record-equalling eighth play-off triple-double.

Kerr's involvement and communication with the players was limited to the locker room and practice for almost six weeks. "I mean, no other team has done this, right?" It was his tenth board, and with it he secured a triple-double.

Curry was upset by his eight turnovers as Cleveland vowed to put more pressure on the ball and keep Durant from driving and dunking untouched as he did so many times in Game 1.
