OnePlus 5 To Feature 3300 mAh battery

When a large number of Indian eyes were glued on television watching India vs Pakistan ICC Champion Trophy final match yesterday, OnePlus chose the medium to tease the launch of the much-awaited OnePlus 5 smartphone in the country. Today we have seen a couple of leaks that have further confused the situation.

The highly awaited OnePlus 5 made a surprise appearance via a TV ad. All the OnePlus fans can watch the launch live as manufacturers will stream the release globally. The device will globally release on June 20th, while the India unveiling event is scheduled two days after the global event. Now, a leak on Chinese website Weibo reveals the pricing details of the OnePlus 5 and shows that the device will be available at a starting price of Rs 32,999.

Not long to wait now.

One of the areas, where you might be disappointed with the new OnePlus 5 is the design.

The OnePlus 5 will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 835 system-on-chip (SoC) equipped with the Adreno 540 GPU, the OPPO Electronics-owned company confirmed.

Battery: There are two possibilities regarding the OnePlus 5's battery - the company might go for a bigger 4,000 mAh battery in comparison to the OnePlus 3T's 3,400 mAh one or retain the same one. The company has tied up with DxO Mark to enhance camera experience on OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus 5 will see its global launch tomorrow, while a separate India launch is scheduled on June 22.

Confused right? One thing for sure OnePlus are doing a fairly good job at hyping this phone without the over the top hype-train of previous years.

TheVerge has already revealed the design and what's surprising, the video below also confirms all of the design ideas and prototypes that were leaked in the past few months. As of now, OnePlus 5 will be coming with the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. OnePlus has also promised an Android O update to its older OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T smartphones.

Per GSM Arena, the OnePlus 5 will have a 5.5-inch optic AMOLED display with 1080 x 1920 resolution.
