NBA Finals Recap: Warriors Dismantle the Cavaliers In Game One 113-91

The Warriors beat Cleveland for the 2015 crown but squandered a 3-1 lead previous year as the Cavs made the greatest comeback in NBA Finals history.

Kevin Durant's first NBA Finals game with the Golden State Warriors was a huge success.

But the rest of the team shot an anemic 25 percent from the floor, with five players not able to make a single shot, and the team suffered an atypical 20 turnovers to surrender the game to a ruthless Warriors offense.

The wait is finally over, as Game 1 of the Cavaliers and Warriors' "three-match" in the NBA Finals is under way.

Oh and while they're at it, maybe figure out what to do about Kevin Durant.

Personally, I would have to say that leaving Durant unguarded is not a wise strategy for the Cavaliers.

Oh, he hit from long range, too. "I know he wanted to if he could try to coach Game 1 tonight".

Here's a look at the latest odds and predictions for the NBA Finals following the Warriors' big win.

"Our first half was sloppy on the offensive end, we were missing a lot of lay-ups", said Curry. The fans will find out this Thursday if the GSW can exploit their home court benefit to get an early advantage over the defending champions Cleveland Cavs, or if Lebron James and his crew can score an early upset before heading back to OH for Game 3. Reaching his seventh consecutive finals, James is looking to win his fourth ring. "I know it wouldn't jolt me", Brown said. They play to their competition, and we haven't really seen them challenged like this since last years Finals. Yes, the Warriors might be the most talented team ever assembled, but the Cavaliers are better than what they showed after the first quarter - starting with LeBron James, and down to Kyle Korver and the shade of Deron Williams, a wisp of what he used to be.

The Cavaliers, playing their first game in almost a week, denied rust was a factor in Thursday's 113-91 loss and simply tipped their cap to a talent-rich Warriors team that have won all 13 of their playoff games this year.

Game 2 in the series is Sunday night back at Oracle Arena with its deafening sellout crowd.

Some predictions see the NBA Finals ending quickly.

The 29-year-old's tactics weren't enough to stop Steph Curry, Durant and co from taking the first game of a potential seven 113-91. You are talking one of the best players in the game. Kevin Love grabbed 21 rebounds and scored 15 points, while Tristan Thompson was held scoreless and to four boards. Cleveland will have to slow down a team that has been clobbering teams by 16.3 points per game in the postseason.

"Obviously not really dealing with any bumps or bruises really besides this elbow that's not really a factor", Curry said. Hopefully there will be no injuries or amusing business and we can just have the two best teams in the National Basketball Association go at each other to see who is the best.

The Golden State Warriors star forward played his middle school basketball at Drew Freeman Middle School in Prince George's County, Md., and one of his teammates was San Francisco 49ers star linebacker, NaVorro Bowman. He also added 8 rebounds and 8 assists.

The Warriors lost Game 7 of the NBA Finals on their own court. MVP Tony Parker averaged 24.5 points per game, while James could only manage 22 ppg, as the Spurs swept the series.

Add in the fact the Cavaliers committed 20 turnovers - James had eight - and it's easy to see why the game went off the rails for Cleveland. Warriors coach Steve Kerr attended the game, met with commissioner Adam Silver, and stayed behind the scenes while continuing to deal with spinal-fluid issues. "My heart goes out to him", NBA Commissioner Adam Silver said. This was made possible because the players were not under any National Basketball Association obligations during the lockout.
