SPOILER ALERT** James Gunn confirms Elizabeth Debicki's return in next Guardians sequel

So far, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is the roaring success that everyone expected it to be. Gamora's relationship with Nebula is complicated and surprisingly endearing, as you find yourself sort of rooting for them to hug and mend fences.

Zoe Saldana is back as the handsome and fierce Gamora who still doesn't share her feelings very well. For answers, see "GOTG2", asap.

While all of this is going on, our heroes are on the run from some ethereal, gold-plated humanoids because Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper), the raccoon creature, stole some of their batteries (don't ask). It successfully accomplished this with a few characters, such as Quill and Drax (Dave Bautista); however, for almost all the remaining characters in the film, their character development is spotty, forced and seems tacked on as an afterthought. The inspirational sport drama tells the story of an ordinary Indian father who trained his two daughters to compete in the country's first female wrestling championship. During the massively epic action that results, Peter comes across a character who is truly surprising to him. Of course, there's also the whole sibling rivalry thing between Gamora and her twisted sister, Nebula (Karen Gillan). Not so appealing is Chris Sullivan as nasty - and exceedingly unattractive - Ravager named Taserface. Hunnam's most notable other outing as a movie star, 2013's Pacific Rim, was a disappointment domestically but managed to make enough money to at least recoup its budget in overseas markets.

With plenty of action, humor and a Stan Lee appearance that finally reveals the role of his character within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a ideal popcorn movie. Watch for Sylvester Stallone's cameo. I knew it would be amusing since the first movie kept me laughing, but director James Gunn and all the actors outdid themselves in the sequel. Stolen batteries launch the plot. But at the heart of Gunn's film is the hero's quest: Peter Quill's search for his biological father, not an easy quest as it turns out.

At the beginning of the film, the Guardians are still working together and learning how to live with each other. Thursday was the first day the pre-shows of the new Marvel film began before its official release last Friday. Discuss this on your way home. This movie was a mix of action, adventure, and comedy which is hard to pull off sometimes but somehow Marvel always pulls it off perfectly.

Five years ago Avengers Assemble stayed at the top for a second weekend, it kept off American Pie: Reunion which made its debut at number 2. Keep an eye out at a particular theme park attraction opening soon, you'll get to see a little crossover...

Now go see it!
