Roman Reigns vs Braun Strowman and more feud-fuelled fights

This is sad news for Raw as Jericho is still one of the best wrestlers in WWE today. What started as an alliance that threatened to take over WWE has turned into a bitter, personal rivalry mixed with wild and unpredictable elements. In the first ever "House of Horrors" match, Bray defeated Randy with Sister Abigail.

Last year's Payback was billed as the start of the new era and while the company were being criticised for their use of old storylines, Kevin Owens facing Sami Zayn at Payback felt like the flawless match to usher in that idea. In what could very well be their final battle against each other thanks to the Superstar Shake-Up bringing Bray Wyatt to RAW, who will escape the House of Horrors as the victor?

Roman Reigns beat Braun Strowman at Fastlane on March 5, becoming the first and only WWE superstar to pin the big man since he made his debut on August 24, 2015. Jericho was given a re-match after losing the championship at WrestleMania 33.

Wyatt being revealed at the end of Raw as the mystery partner for The Miz (are we really to believe he sent Miz a backstage note pitching his services?) and closing the go-home show with premeditated attacks on Chris Jericho and Dean Ambrose only made things more ridiculous.

The following matches are advertised for the WWE Payback event that will be held tonight in San Jose, California at SAP Center.

For those who have followed the product closely, this provided some comedic closure to a long-running joke wherein Jericho (and during their partnership, Kevin Owens) would confuse the names of the interviewers, in particular Mike and Tom. (I still have my money on the tag title match, though.) I want this feud to last all the way until SummerSlam, however, especially if Rollins is to undergo a big redemption arc; it's just odd that the big win against Triple H already happened, and he still has to go through Joe. The animosity between these two Superstars would lead into Payback where Seth Rollins would go one-on-one with Samoa Joe. Whoever ended up with the title after the match was over would be on SmackDown while the loser would be on Raw. After Randy betrayed Bray and successfully defeated him for the WWE World Title at WrestleMania 33, Bray was dead-set on getting some (you guessed it) payback.

Note: Austin Aries wins via DQ, therefore no title change takes place. The Club were going for the Magic Killer, but Cass booted Gallows out of the ring, and Amore rolled up Anderson for the win.

The long-awaited conclusion to a months-long story comes this Sunday when Chris Jericho gets his championship rematch against his former best friend, Kevin Owens.

Neville retained the title via disqualification.

Hardy Men def. Cesaro & Sheamus: They were building this as two respectful teams respecting each other and we were all so focused on the Hardys being broken we didn't even consider that Cesaro and Sheamus would get fed up and knock them around after the bell. In front of Bayley's hometown, Bliss succeeded, dethroning the champion to usher in her reign of wickedness. A few minutes later, as an injured Roman Reigns began to limp out of the arena, they could be heard chanting, "You deserve it!"
